If you want to stay in a safe friendly affordable City there can be few places that can match Cardiff. It is an ideal place to live and study, each year the city of Cardiff welcomes over three thousand international students from over one hundred countries.
There is everything a capital city should have, a flourishing city centre, beautiful parks, designer shops, sporting facilities and a wonderful harbour built around a large freshwater lake (Cardiff Bay).
Testimony to Cardiff’s growing reputation is that it is now a Designated Centre of Culture, an accolade received for being short-listed for the title of European Capital of Culture 2008.
Cardiff is a friendly and low-cost city to live in; the British Tourists Authority has identified Cardiff as the most affordable capital city to visit for the last nine years.
It is easy to get around Cardiff; the local transportation is superb with buses reaching all parts of the city every ten minutes. Cycling is also very popular as the city’s parks make excellent cycle routes to help you get around. Cardiff also has excellent road and rail links and an International Airport.
Cardiff hosts a range of events throughout the year from major international culture events to sporting events attracting people of all ages and tastes. The famous Millennium stadium is located in the centre of the City. The stadium is home to Welsh rugby and has witnessed several great sporting occasions in the past decade including the Rugby World Cup final, football Cup final, boxing title fights and special stages of the Wales Rally GB. The stadium will host the football events of the 2012 Olympics.
Also, in Sophia Gardens, the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club the visiting Australians play England in an Ashes test. Nearby the Ryder Cup will be held at the Celtic Manor Resort featuring the best golfers of Europe and America. |
